Helium Leak Testing System

Helium Leak Testing System

for Welded Cartridge Valves in Mass Production

A customized helium leak testing system was developed for an automotive supplier to reliably verify the seal integrity of cartridge valve welds directly within the production line. The system enables ultra-precise leak detection at fast cycle times, ensuring that only flawless components proceed to downstream assembly.

The Challenge

Reliable Testing at Short Cycle Times

Following assembly and welding, cartridge valves must undergo rigorous leak testing. The application demanded both exceptional measurement accuracy and short cycle times to meet the throughput requirements of modern series production.

The customer required an automated testing solution that could reliably detect microscopic leaks, seamlessly integrate into their production workflow, and achieve the target cycle time without compromising quality.

The Solution

Helium Leak Testing for Maximum Process Reliability

The automated test system ensures dependable quality control directly inline, enabling cost-effective, high-volume manufacturing. A key advantage is its ability to test different cartridge valve variants without requiring manual changeovers. This minimizes downtime and significantly boosts overall production flexibility.
